Bean animal pipe configuration in a narrow overflow box

Hey guys,

So, I have got this narrow overflow box made which doesnot allow me to put my regular U pipe configuration for bean animal style overflow. The bulkheads attaching the outer box to the inner box doesnt allow for elaborate U pipe configuration.

Hence, I have been thinking of a couple of iterations as shown below :-

The Tee is the Durso standpipe, red open pipe is the emergency overflow pipe and the last one on the right is the main siphon .

Which one do you feel will work best ? Definitely open to other ideas .

One constraint is I am gonna plumb my Theiling roller mat directy into the main drain , so flow should be around 500 gph - much less than the box is rated for which is 1800 gph.

Could get street elbows from hardware, but they will be white. Not sure if it’ give you enough clearance, but it will certainly be shorter.
You could also cut down those fittings

If I get the street elbows and use the second pic and replace the elbow with teh street 90, it will lower the main siphon but dont think I can get it enough to fit it as a U .

Would you have more room if you turn the tee and elbow the other way. Meaning away from center emergency, instead of towards as it shows in pic?

Tough with the bulkheads being in the way ! question is any of the 1 and 2 configurations will work and is there any risk in any one of them ?
Turning them towrds the back doesnt cause the holes in the Tee and Elbow to be obstructed .

Don’t see how it will work, unless you do emergency drain in center, and the other 2 turned away from emergency. The drains being in front of bulkheads is not an issue. Have it that way on any i’v ever done, np

Thanks !!! Problem is I cant have the drains infront of the bulkhead because it wont fit as shown in the pic . The box is just too narrow for the U pipe and the bulkhead

What overflow box is that?

Oh, easy, cut down bulkhead.

Take off bulkhead, put nut back on, then cut. When you take off nut to reinstall it will chase away any debris making getting the nut onto cut bulkhead easier

I can’t speak from experience but I’m working on getting a new tank up & running myself, anyway, at the end of this video Bill suggests using straight pipes for the overflow. I’m going try things out as mentioned in his presentation.

Well id reduce the center to half inch and see if you can squeeze them in that way. That or if room allowed used 2 45s and angle the emergency away.

Plus 1 on Maggie muffler.
I just put one into a 1600g Modular Marine overflow box and I was able to dial the sound from the overflow to ZERO. No swirling and there is no bubbling. I have the 1" pipe working at 99% and a tiny bit on the 2nd drain. The water level in the box is a bit higher to prevent noise from water rushing in.

Well that would work, but just take the fittings off and run straight pipes. Adjust length as needed. I ran my first bean with straight pipes for many years.
