Been out for 12 years...what'd I miss?

Why did I not see this in 2003? I actually work in the medical field and used to work in dialysis and always thought about the peristaltic pumps that we used in the field. I don’t think they ever should have sold Ca reactors with just bubble counters anyway.
Do you think Calcium reactors are the way to go over Kalkwasser Stirrers and 2 part dosing?
People usually don't go that route because they are very expensive.

Lights and pumps are wifi connected now...

Went to my LFS and the employees there told me AIOs and sumpless tanks were the rage now. Innovative marine is the new leader? Are they worth the large cost outlay? What else have I missed?
Man, just missed the start of coral bans.....

Forgot, welcome

I run a tunze Carx. I have a masterflex but dont use it. The effluent adjustment is very rudimentary but works and keeps me at 25-30mls per minute.
Almost forgot...

stick to doing it the old way that you know, Its more fun and all this new equipment is just a way for the industry to get more money out of you

This one right here. Expensive gear does not a better tank make. There is not good or bad gear of any kind. Just incorrect usage or correct usage. Managing expectations matters.

Anyhow.

Flow options are a lot better.

I never jumped on board with the led takeover because I don’t find it cost effective.

Testing supplies and understanding have improved quite a bit.

Lots of purpose made automation products are available. They might make your life easier. They might just frustrate you. They’ll cost as much as a new iPhone, but function like something made for a science project in many instances.

Personal opinions here

Hands down. Need an apex to monitor the pH. But the only issue I had is when the power went out and the pump didn't start back up. But you can set alarms that will let you know if the pH is off too high or too low and then you know you need to take a look. Like I said literally a handful of time over 2 years that I've had to check anything.
