Being “followed”?

Uhhhh I’ve gotten a couple of notices that ppl are “following” me. What does that mean?

Normally it would notify them when you post something, however my understanding is that feature does not work at the moment.

If you click on their avatar it will open a popup window and one of the options is follow.

In addition to following a person, you can also watch a thread, a forum, or a hashtag. The main difference right now is that watching a thread, a forum, or a hashtag work.

I did manage to figure out how to watch a thread all by myself. I’m pretty proud of myself for that hehehe.

I received an alert that you are following me. I can also go to my profile and see the people that I follow and also see who is following me. Similarly, I can go to your profile and see who you are following and who is following you. Once the forum software is upgrade then I expect that the "following" feature will be useful.

I’ve been following people for months/years and never received an alert about them. A couple days ago I noticed the “your news feed” tab, shows activity from the people I follow for instance if they post a comment anywhere or if they like a thread/post/etc.
