After upgrading my skimmer to a vertex 150, my phosphates have significantly gone down.

Feeding currently 1/2 cube frozen, 1/8 tbsp pellets. 1/8 tbsp reef roids daily in a 40 gallon tank and phosphate are hovering at 0.02ppm with a ULR hanna checker

Thinking about dosing some amino acids as my filtration can handle the bioload

What is currently everyone's favorite in terms of improving coral health/color/PE on acros

I'm debating between acropower or ab+ but am interested if there' any other ones out there

Here's a recent top down pic. Currently have about 15 frags of acros

I’ll be going back to Fuel after this bottle of AB+. I don’t like that I can’t put it on a doser and haven’t noticed an improvement over Fuel. Acropower worked about the same as fuel for me too. I think Pohls Xtra is the only other one I want to try.

I stopped using acropower and moved to Easy Reefs EasyBooster and SpsEvo and haven't looked back. PE and growth took off shortly after starting both. Acropower did improve things when I started it, but when I switched to Easy Reefs, it was pretty obvious. But this is just my experience with both.

Yea I have always heard good things about acropower but not too many reviews on AB+ yet

I see impressive results from fuel usage on growout systems at work, I have used brightwell and korallen zucht aminos on my own past systems with good but a very small minimal/noticeable differences.

Im certainly going to start using fuel on my own new system, however, Im battling dinos right now

Red sea comes with a cap that allows you to hook up a doser. I use mine on a doser, I have a mini fridge that I keep it in.

Ooof that seems to be the norm with starting with dry rock these days. Were you using the KZ dropper aminos? Fuel seems to be more than just straight aminos which might be why we are seeing more results. My LFS swears by it too.

My setup is already complicated enough at the moment and I dont have a dedicated fish room. If I saw better results I'd maybe try to figure that out.

I have had good luck with brightwell koral amino and aquaforest AF energy with my sps. I also feed tetraselmis phyto (live). Not acros but still I my corals seem much happier with this combo rather than reef energy (the separate bottles).

Using Aquaforest aminos here.
Also dosing their phyto and loving their liquid rotifers.

Yeah I was using KZ coral amino concentrate, this was many years ago though, considering it was like 60$ a bottle the results that could be noticed didn't justify to me the need to continue using it, switched to brightwell, never saw anything that impressive either.

Yeah fuel does have lots of different vitamins in it compared to other aminos, I actually love the smell of it ! just like I wish they made Coral Rx scented candles :p

I don't know about all the other brands but Acro Power gives my Acros noticeable growth literally over night. I also use Reef Fuel but honestly don't see any results with SPS using. My Zoas love the Fuel more than my Acros. If I only dose FUEL and no Acro power my zoas and Mushrooms are super happy but my acro barely grow. If I only dose Acro Power, I see white tips on my Acro's from growth overnight. I've watched this happen time and time again over the years. It's mostly due to being lazy or cheap and not having one or the other. However, It's clear to me what my Acro's like and what my Zoas/shrooms like. SO, I now use both on alternate days and it's working wonderfully. Acro's have white tips, zoas growing out of control, bounce shrooms are plump with healthy large bubbles and color.

Yea currently I'm leaning more towards acropower.

Just wondering how much were you dosing before?

I find it important to dose daily or every other day versus once or twice a week. I started dosing Acro power at 25% recommended, increased it to 50% suggested dose and I'm happy with the results. I notice algae issued creeping up when I dosed higher amounts but your system may differ. Basically I just watch the sandbed, and throttled down dosing when algae appeared. If algae sneaks up on you, it's easier to just back off dosing, kill the algae and slow down acro growth versus feeding the algae with continued growth. Focus on long term. When the algae dies off, start dosing again but in smaller amounts until you find balance.

Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves the smell of fuel. I always thought it smelled like honey twisted pretzel sticks

I use both acropower daily on a doser and fuel twice a week when feeding corals. I saw a much better increase in growth and coloration after adding fuel to the mix.

I feel that the trace elements (specifically iron) in fuel might be one of the reasons why it works so well. From my understanding, iron is a limiting factor for coral growth and is consumed rapidly in reef tanks.

They're all pretty worthless. In a properly stocked and fed aquarium, adding amino acids probably does little other add pollution. If your nutrients are getting low then add more fish and feed more, corals will make their own amino acids.
