Spectrapure UPLC-II. There are so many levels of safety its crazy. I have owned mine over 5.5 years and it has been flawless.

Personally, I recommend a Bulk reef supply 50 ml per minute doser and just have top off water added to your tank on a timer. No float switches that can fail. Also, if your skimmer goes crazy and starts emptying your tank of water, your ato won't start adding fresh water to your tank possibly killing everything.
Once locked in, you only have to change the timing on the doser in the spring and fall. You can modify it easily with your apex.

I run a high output doser from BRS as well. I wouldn't use any other method. I dose three times a day. I prefer small amounts over large.
The UPLC does not rely on float valves or float switches. It uses a digital electronic sensor which is extremely accurate and can be adjusted anywhere from 1/10" to 4" range at the touch of a button. The fill rate can also be set in 10% increments so you could fill slow enough it ould not possible overflow even in the sensor and the back up switch both failed. The included pump is the same as in their bulletproof LiterMeter which has been around or decades and is # 1 in the industry for dosing pumps. Only the best.

Tunze osmolator here, never once had an issue. Think it goes for 210.00 but VERY well worth it. If you choose to go ahead and research the tunze you'll find a lot of reviews backing the reliability and durability of the osmolator. I've even ran my top off water dry and had the pump trying to draw water that wasn't there and when I heard it goin off I thought would have burned thd pump up. To my surprise I added water and it had no issue priming itself. This actually happened twice since I've owned the ato and both times I had no problem with it working afterwards. It truly is a life saver.

I run the Tunze osmolator but have had two metering pumps go bad. To remedy the problem I went with the Tunze osmolator switched socket outlet and now use a larger powerhead to transfer the water to the tank.

Marine Depot's site has the HydroFill ATO controller listed for $199 and unless I looked at it wrong, it appears that the unit doesn't come with a pump.

Same here 2 years set it up and I haven't touched it since. Besides never having 1 single problem it's dead accurate. I can't say enough about the quality of Spectrapure!!

I have tunze on my tanks. However, one just failed and the pump continued to run because of the sensor fail. Switching to the spectrapure. I run liter meters for dosing and I can backup how good spectrapure is.

Do you have an Apex controller and are you looking to integrate an ATO with it? If so Avast sells a pressure switch that has two options for connecting to an Apex controller. I have one on order and used a similar switch on my old Reef Angel controller. You can build in a few failsafes such as a time limit on how long the pump can run or additional switches. The nice thing about using a pressure switch over a mechanical switch is that it is less likely to stick like a mechanical float switch can.

I have the hydra fill and been running since macna. It is fantastic and has a high and low level so u have a very stable level in sump. Is has magnetic sensors versus floats so mechanical failures "yet".

If there is a cost effective option out there that will connect to my apex and is fail proof, thatd be great. If not it looks like the spectrapure is a pretty safe bet, I may try it.
