Oh Boy! Have you opened a can of worms!!!!

I'm a Bayer dipper and believe it's the best bang for the buck. I use 1 ml per 100 mls of tank water and rinse in two separate tank water washes before placing in the tank. Oh, and I remove the plug, unless it's plastic, before dipping. About 15 - 20 minutes in the dip solution.

Let the battle begin.

haha sorry. i just googled and got so many mixed opinions haha so i wanted to come here and ask and decide!

Another vote for Bayer before the fireworks start....lol.

#1 for pests I will say the majority will say Bayer.
#2 for all in one aside from algae Coral RX

I would also stock some lugols iodine or OTC iodine for infection/necrosis. H2O2 used for algae's.

If your more specific in your question you can narrow the answers.

This....+1.
You need to dip for more than just bugs.
Look at the help I got algae threads.
Bugs Dino's cyanos algaes Christophytes etc etc can all be invasive species and pests.

Some corals also don't respond well to some dips.
I'm told some zoas will not like peroxiide.

Does Coral RX do the same and more than what Bayer can do? Does it help with flatworms and other pests like that? I'm actually buying either one or the other today, I'm transferring some corals from a tank that has flatworms [emoji52]

rx will also kill algaes, but it needs repeated dips. bayer kills only bugs. but needs repeated dips, as bugs lay eggs and hatch. Peroxide works too. but all dips share the same problem. to be fully effective it needs to be done more than once.

My dip process is:
#1 Coral Rx as I can see what comes off then
#2 Bayer for 15 minutes to get what coral rx missed
#3 clean water for 15 minutes x3

This.

Also, it's always best to qt but I understand it's not always possible.

If you sourced your frags from a raunchy shop, then also look over the frag with a magnifying-glass to check for eggs..

I forgot to add the qt tank. I do have a 20 gallon long with diy egg crate racks where all frags go for 72 days.

I also repeat my dip process of coral rx and bayer about 3 to 4 times during the 72 days to get any possible eggs.

I had a pest problem and the main reason I tore it apart last year and started over was hair algae and worms.

Not happening again lol

So, RX will kill box and algae?

Before I do it, will Bayer kill bivalves and feather dusters that live in the branch of frogspawns? I don't want to kill those :|

Yes it probably will.

What would you use to dip a Frogspawn that has three bivalves and three feather dusters? I really don't want those to die... the only pest that may be come along on that frogspawn are flatworms (that I haven't been able to kill, regardless of how much flatworm exit I use)
