So this is for a 40 breeder flow is high what fish wont die lol

Do you have a tight fitting screen top? If so, a smaller fairy or flasher wrasse would be a nice choice. A basslet, hawkfish, pair of clowns, maybe an orchid dottyback (most passive dottyback, others are quite ornery), talbots damsels (also more peaceful than typical damsels), a nice goby... lot's of choices :)

No I dont have a top I have a goby already and chromis

Yellow Tail Blue Damsels are peaceful and nice eaters of things from the reef. Midas Blenny. Clownfish. Not having a top is going to limit you quite a bit on cool wrasses.

Check behind the tank lol. BRS did a BRS investigates video on their screen tops where they found you only lose about 4% of PAR with their diy kit. I would definitely look into that if you plan to get another wrasse.

I will look right now

Blue demsel, yellow tail demsel , 6 line wrasse, however these guys are well known bullies. But great for the sps tank

The blue demsel a big bully but the are known to eat pests from corals almost as good as a wrasse . And they are hands down the best blue fish you are going to get. Everything else is sensitive or not so blue or not reef safe
I read an article on them and the author went down the list of blue fish and the blue devil is the king of blue. And a jerk

Yep check check behind the tank and in the overflow. Found my 6 line dried up behind my tank about a month ago. Wrasse get spooked easy and jump, they never go for the million places to hind in the rock. Its always "quick hind on the floor".

I'm wondering if it will kill my other fish in my 40 breeder

I have a 42g and it's a low nutrient high flow SPS tank... My current stock is a six line, starry blenny, ocellaris clown, small hippo tang, one blue chromi, bartlet anthias and a spotted mandarin goby. All get a long fine and are healthy

I wouldn’t suggest a hippo tang or any type of mandarin for a 40g tank...

Tang is temporary until owner finishes setting up, but has been in here for a month or so.

Why not a mandarin for a 40? I have a thriving refugium that is exploding with pods.... He is fat and healthy with no signs of stress. I'm very attentive with my fish and take action if they show any signs of stress

Typically, there isn’t enough live rock in a 40 gallon tank to support a mandarin long term... unless the refugium is bigger than the tank itself. Some say you can supplement frozen, culture pods, feed baby brine, etc etc etc... in my experience it always fails eventually. I’ve killed a couple myself- trying everything under the sun, only had success long term (2 years and counting) when I upgraded to a 120...

I’m sure there’s a few exceptions, but as a general rule it’s very risky.

I think wrasses are worth the trouble in sps. They are great at keeping pests at bay. Yellow tail damsels are great and get the most compliments ironically from guest. ORA lemon damsels as well. Theyre like yellowtails except all yellow.

Appreciate the info! I've only had mine for a few months so far (about 4-5). I've also been supplementing my fuge with pods every couple months or so (although I don't think I need to because there's plenty of visible pods in there at all times). Crossing my fingers!
