Best fish that occupy the rocks

I think coral Gobies there are what we call clown Gobies.

Happens... my LFS had a pintail fairy wrasse male, beautiful fish... I watched it there for 6 months, the time I went there to get that fish, it had sold the day before, lol. I was so sad, such a good deal too, $120UsD

I love fairy wrasses the bummer is I am not that old so I don’t have a heap of money to buy them but i did get a nice one it’s a whip tail fairy wrasse and it was only 20 Australian

I think the bicolor Blenny or any of the horned or oyster Blennies would be what you are looking for.

My lfs always has a few of those do you reckon it would go well in a 75 gallon tank though with bigger fish

I have mine in a 90 g ...hes in with s copperband , yellow doctor , flame angle , yellow watchman goby ..6 line wrasse and 5 blue chromis and 2 clowns ..no problems !!

In my tank I have a lot of fish that swim in the open water all day long and the fish I plan to add do the same thing aswell but I want to add some fish that occupy the rocks and hide in caves and then come out everynow and then. So I was wondering what are your guys favourite fish that occupy the rocks other then a flame hawk fish because they are way to expensive in australia

Almost any basslet will do what you are looking for but some can be very cryptic. Do not know your availability in Aus but a Royal Gramma would be perfect for what you describe and dont hide too much. I've had Yellow Assessors in the past (favorite small fish) and IME you wont see them out of the rocks unless you keep them with very peaceful fish. The Orchid Dottyback is a great choice and I would put them in the middle as far as coming out goes, IME they will be visable but rarely stray far from their spot. Never had a Swiss Bass before but I understand they are quite secretive. A good suggestion for a wrasse would be one of the possums, they are pretty reclusive until they get comfortable and will cruise in and out of the rockworck all day. They are a very cool fish and a great reef tank addition.

what's your current stocklist? some wrasses (particularly the lined ones) might not take well to adding rock based fish.. or any fish..

my longnose hawkfish swims back and forth and perches on my gyres but I love him. he also perches in the middle of the tank on my frag rack. cool guy

Its a type of rabbit fish it’s only found in Western Australia search up happy moment rabbit fish and pictures will come up but they are pictures when it is ticked so it is a completely different colour but when it is calm it it olive greenish brown

How about fire fish ? My purple one only comes out for food but he’s not a total recluse, you’ll often see him in and out of the rock work and perching in a ledge with his head poking out .

At the moment I have a scissor tail goby which is the same thing but grey and a slightly different body shape but fire fish are one of my favourites and it is tempting

I don’t really know any more but we call nasurius snail zombie snails in some places
