My 2 top choices are currently Eshopps PSK-100h or Bubble Magus NAC5E. Any opinions of these or any other skimmers? It's going on a 40B with a 20 ish gallon sump. Skimmer space is too small for anything worthwhile.

Thanks!

Gotta ask man, have you considered a Deltec Hang on. These are some of the best performing hang on skimmers out there. Let me know if you'd like any info on them

Of course I've considered it. But seems a bit out of my price range right now. Which model compares to the psk 100h?

I've also considered the reef octopus but a friend of mine has it (1000 version) and the skim from it wasn't all that great. Of course it could be just his but... meh

Tunze 9004 is what Im going with mine. Its an "in tank" skimmer that has a magnetic mount to the tank wall. Its pretty effective and has great reviews. Aquarium Depot has a nice ComLine pack which has a filter and the skimmer if thats something you are looking for, but otherwise the 9004 (or the DC version) runs about $150-190.

I have a cpr over flow, it seems good to me. It was only 130.00, I think..
I want something that can pull out more skim .

I'd like something rated a bit higher just in case. Don't want to have to upgrade. I've considered the 9012 but that's a bit out of the price range :/

Aquamaxx and on sale too at Marine depot.
Had this on my nuvo 20! Great skimmer but would like something rated higher. I'm looking to really stock my tank in the nearby future. (Aqumaxx HOB 1) I haven't looked into the Cone S

From what I see, the DCE300 right? Man, I would love to get one, but out of my budget :) I'll definitely consider upgrading to one after getting a new stand and sump later on! (if I don't get a in-sump)

Reef Octopus BH-90…its a workhorse.
I've also considered that, also looks like a good choice but not a lot of reviews, and the only images of it don't have all that great of a skim in it.

Also the reason I'm kinda leaning towards the Eshopp's skimmer is that it has a Sicce pump which has always been reliable for me.

I'm using the icecap k2 on my 40. It works good and it's a hang on it's good up to 80 gallons. I like it because it has a drain on the cup. I tend to run a wet skim.

I'm using a eshopps 75 on a 40 now, it works pretty good. Really can't beat it for the price.

Are you talking about the K2-50? It's rated for 40 gallons heavy. I'm attaching a frag tank in the future so looking for something larger! Heard really great things about it though.

The mc400 is your winner. Really hard to beat and a great fit on 40 gallons. Shoot me a pm man I have a couple very reasonable options for you if you are interested

Haha All of the Deltec skimmers are definitely out of my budget for now. I'll let you know in the future. Just wondering though, what pumps do these Deltec skimmers use and what's the lt/hour?
