So just buying any iodine supplement, ie: Seachem, Kent etc will all serve the same purpose? There isn’t one that would be better than another? I have a salifert test kit and will check but want the one that is “safer” than the others if accidentally overdosed or something
I dose this.....I put it in my ATO..my system has a big demand but TEST, TEST

Very true,,The Salifert test kit measures both,,but have to take into account the home use test kit results with a "drift" in levels for say. That's likely a fine product, but note that if you use a kit that only detects iodide, you'll be underestimating the concentration added.
Is that why Iodate is found in higher concentrations in NSW than Iodine/Iodide ..
What would be the effects of the accumulative Iodate in the reef aquarium ?

Does ozone convert iodine to the more bioavailable form?
Iodide (I-) would be converted into I2, hypoiodate (IO-) and iodate (IO3-)
Iodate (IO3-) will not react with ozone.
Wow so basically makes it distasteful to organisms, right? Can it loose the oxygen atom and convert back to iodide?

Yes, and some organisms have enzymes to do that (or at least, they have enzymes whose purpose may be something else, but that can accomplish that).
This may be a fun read:
