i take my previous comment back. this looks legit. great coloration on the red planet as well. can i ask you your basic tank info: what lights, what filtration, and if you dose anything? what do you keep your alk, nitrate and phosphate at. thanks.

Thanks. I run an 8x80w ati sunpower fixture. Currently I have 6 giesemann t5's in it along with two blue pop e5's. I have always ran ati bulb's but decided to try something new, and to be honest I really like the colors of the giesemann. The e5's are great but I would never go with more than two in my fixture. I run a barebottom tank, one gyre150 and one jebao rw20 for flow, jecod 12000 return, large off brand skimmer 3000lph air, 1000gph water flow. I have some mangroves in a fuge but they don't grow a lot. For dosing I use a cheap jebao doser and only dose alk and calc, evs b ionic. I feed once a day lrs or rods frozen food. I will manually dose mag when needed and also dose acropower every other day. I try to do a 20% water change monthly. Tank is 180g 3/4" acrylic with a black back and black bottom. That's pretty much it, I consider my tank pretty non techy as I like to be in control instead of a controller. Parameters were in the first post.

The PC Rainbow took about 10mths to color up to what it is today. I watched it brown out over and over until it finally got settled and happy. I nearly gave up on it a few times. What it really likes is for your alk to stay extremely consistent. My alk will swing a bit between 8.3-8.7 but it really doesn't move around much more than that.

@luke33 that's a great looking PC Rainbow. I agree with you about the alk swing, in my experience with my PC frag it is very sensitive to lower alk, likes higher alk over 10 dkh and mine likes medium moderate flow, does not like being blasted all the time and tends to bleached around the edge of the base when not happy. Right now I'm trying to find the sweet spot and hopefully will color back up.

Best picture I have of mine. When I took all my acros out to dip them one last time before gluing, it went brown quick and still one of the last ones to color back up. Medium light (200-250 par) and medium flow.

That was under 400w MH. It's currently under LEDs now so I'm a little worried it might never color back up as nice. Time will tell!

That looks really good! Thanks for the pic. The PC actually does very well under LED too so I'm sure once it settles in it will color back up.

That's great growth you are getting! Did it start growing faster after you fragged it?

Yes. Seem when I frags up some sps I notice it will take off a little. I do it to frags that sit still. I will tip them.

Good deal. I think we need to use that term tipping : ) I'll have to tip one of mine and see if it starts growing at a faster rate.

It's definitely a fast grower, keeps up with my cheapie corals like screaming green birdsnest.

That's interesting to hear about the higher alk. I have always had luck with sps between 7-9 alk wise. Any time I've tried to get into the 10 realm I have had problem after problem. This and a mille I have seem to be the most sensitive to changes. Luckily I have my tank where I want it now so hopefully there are not any more changes : )

Here's mine it high up under 400w Radiums sitting in crazy par of 800. Grows extremely fast. The white spots are where frags where taken.

Is this not the PC superman? I'm asking here, not accusing or anything. The superman tables out and has blue tips, very similar to this picture. Just curious.

Hey Tom, yes that is an ORA Chips. I've recently moved it to the front of my tank for better viewing of the fuzziest acro known to man! Okay, not really but it's crazy fuzzy.

My all time favorite for years, lost mine 8 years ago nice job!

Thanks! I'm a big fan of collecting the old school corals. I don't trust half the named corals these days with Photoshop so rampant, unless I see it in person. I saw the PC rainbow in person and was sold on it. [emoji4]
