Best material cup for anemone footing

Title says its all. What would you personally use to let an aneome get its foot down into?

"on the rock" or "on the substrate" isn't an answer to the question...looking for a productive conversation !!!

Rock is preferable but they also thrive on substrate. key is to allow them to find their happy spot. If they move, it may due to too much flow. If they hide, too much light.
Moderate to medium light and water flow is favored.

At my LFS they use a small basket like you would use on a desk top to hold office equipment. Let's in flow and keeps the smaller ones safe. Seems to work for them

I have a neat little anemone cradle from Fishnreef. it works pretty well, and some people say their anemones don't leave them. Mine did, but it came back eventually.

Clay flower pots work well move as you need to plus clowns like laying their eggs in them easy to protect

Thankfully a few people have so far !!! I specifically asked for a productive conversation on the matter without any "rock" or "substrate" answers...

and then you told me about flow and lighting like I haven't been on this site and in the hobby for as long as you have....kind of condesending if you ask me !!!

I'm with @vetteguy53081 on this. Spend your money on anemone contraptions if you're so inclined, but anemones do what anemones do. When it's moves somewhere unacceptable, do a search for "anemone cannon" on this site.

Anemones dont "do what they do" if you dont allow them. They'll either die or live.

Personally, I’m not a fan of plastic cups or baskets or flower pots in my, completely ruins the fantasy, ruins the suspension of disbelief. An anemone in a cup is like a hermit crab with 3D printed shell, it’s an affront to the natural beauty of a reef tank. So, I know it’s not the answer you want, but it’s the answer I’m giving, for me it either goes on the rockwork or doesn’t go in the tank.

Edit: also wanted to mention that you are just great at fostering ‘productive conversation’.

I've owned every type of anemone you could own in my 15 years or keeping, servicing, and working at the LFS...but yes maybe one day I'll learn !!!

I know I'm sad my favorite bubble tip decided his favorite place is hard to see rn. I'm trying to gently encourage it to move by increasing flow in the area.
