Best PAR meter?

What PAR meters do you guys prefer? Any recommendations?
Is it possible to use a lux meter? That's all I'm finding when I search.
Is the PAR meter even necessary?

I like the last apogee that is usb i think the 520. Easier to use with computer than handheld device IMO.

I'm not in the US so BRS doesn't ship to me. It's a good idea though, for a very expensive item that only needs to be used once or so. I'll look into it and see if there are similar schemes in my country. Thank you!

Yeah it's a shame there aren't more affordable options for something like this.

One of my LFS has rentals but they said they didn't have batteries and couldn't find any locally... so that didn't help.

I offered to buy the battery myself if they would rent it to me but no dice.

Apogee MQ510 which I borrow from my lfs.

I have a seneye which works okay as well for comparative measurements
