Still building. Waiting on the chiller and the contractor to get the drains installed. I'm guessing no water till after christmas because I'm going to run into delays with travel and the holidays. I don't want to have fish in qt during this time. The season is stressful enough without having to deal with this on top of it.

This is my quarantine tank.

Stand for fish QT tank. Gear will be underneath.
My office is just buried in fish gear! Can't wait to get it out of here.

Thanks. I've gotten LOTS of help from experts in the area. Paul Stiegmayer especially. He's a detail freak that I really have come to appreciate. You should see his tank at his home! Wow!
Here is some more rock work. The plan is to build a good base and cement it. Then finish it out with some branching pukani and tonga. We will see how it goes....
Then just for fun. I put a porthole I found online in the room so folks in the office can peek into the gear room.

Nice work! If you lived closer I would give you some starter frags. I really need to thin out the RBTAs in my tank, they have split 4 times and are growing like weeds.

I buy most my frags online or from local reefers. I find bargainprices when buying frags in package deals. LFS are normally on the high sidewhen buying SPS frags so I limit LFSs to supplies and fish. I do preferpurchasing fish from LFS since you can view their health and the fish are lessstressed. Fish that have been sent to me from online stores have arrived in a very stressed condition or dead. Online deals with fish may seem like a great deal but nothing worse thangetting an ick invested fish in your display tank. I found a reefer on Reef2Reef with some nicelypriced frags. Here are some updates....
Attached to the main 400 gallon display is a 40 gal cube that is visible from the engineering department. Utilizing the main system filtration allows me to keep even the most demanding animals that can live in this small space. It's lit with a 150w 20k Halide pendant. In the main display we spread the Tonga branches out a bit to cover the overflows. Still awaiting my electrician to finish the ballasts and wire some of the outlets. Getting close to filling.....
Below the cube we installed a chiller for the system. A good hiding place. This is the discharge vent out of the fish room. Keeping heat out of fish room is my biggest concern.

As you cement the dry rock together be mindful that as your tank mature you may need to remove rocks from of the tank to remove pests, attach frags, catch fish, change landscape.
