does any one have a shot of just aquablue bulbs run as atinic? i have a fixture ati all the way! my tank is a three way visable tank and i run attinics a extra 3 hrs a day longer then the other four bulbs

I agree nova is a good way to good if you cant afford tek, had a nova ditched it asap,

also either one of those two above bulb combos would be sweet looking

the aquablues are very white to be run as atinics, they are 12k bulbs

The Extreme Nova Pro is a good entry level fixture, and will work well. If you're on a budget, this is the light. Many times you can get them more cheaply on EBAY, from reputable sources. They look decent, and ballasts are easily found and replaced.

Alright guys, enough posturing, this thread has been way off topic since the beginning. Yes I can afford a Tek light, I have always used and had great success with Novas, so I have no plans to switch right now. Thanks for the recommendation though, I will keep it in mind.

The bulb combination that was recommended to me by the T5 guru over on RC and what I am currently using is: (Front to Back)

ATI Blue Plus
UVL Aquasun
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Aquasun

I get great color and great growth from these bulbs.

I just put a ATI sunpower 6 bulb over my tank and run 4 blue+,1 aquablue speical and 1 75/25 and so far a good combo but Im sure Ill try and few more combos. As far as fixtures it does make difference on which one. The main thing is what you want to keep. From my understanding tek changed the ballast they where using and the new is not as good.

I personally love the Aquatinic TX5Ho fixtures myself. Owned a 48" and just fired up my 24" 5 bulb set up on my new 60 cube.
This is the exact combo I ran on both fixtures. I was able to keep anything and they flurished.

I just set up a 6 bulb t5 unit and love the color I have. I jsut got the new Hamilton Fiji Sun 4' 6x54w and 16 moonlights. It matches the color of my 400w radium perfectly.

I went with the following scheme.

1. ATI Blue Plus
2. ATI Blue Plus
3. KZ Fiji Purple
4. GE 6500K
5. ATI Blue Plus
6. ATI Blue PLus
