Hey everyone, I'm thinking of switching from LEDs to T5s but the only T5 fixtures I've ever had were smaller ones for nano tanks. Can you guys recommend some fixtures that would be suitable for a 150g tank?

60'' ati 6 or 8 bulb fixture would work perfect.what type of corals do you plan to keep?

To be honest I'm not really sure. I'm kinda experimenting with my tank at the moment. I just remembered I like the colors of T5 better than LED.

try to figure that out before you buy the fixture.if you doing soft corals like mushrooms, zoas 4 bulb fixture is all you need.mixed reef 6 bulb.sps tank, anemones and clams 6 or 8 bulb.

Well let's just say I used to keep a little bit of everything so I'd wanna get a fixture that could hold everything if needed.

If it's 18 front to back a 6 bulb is good. 8 bulb is too wide. And like suggested already 4 bulbs for softy and lps. 6 for sps and calms. 60 inch ati would rock that tank.

I would do the 8 bulb fixture.

Yeah its 18in front to back. Wouldn't the 8 bulb just have more coverage tho?

It's recommended 1 bulb for every 3 inches front to back. Hold on I will measure my 8 bulb and post.

My 8 bulb ati sunpower is 17.5 inches wide. I run a 48 inch 8 bulb sunpower on my 120. 48x24x24 all sps hung 8 inches above water and just under 300 par on sand bed. So I am pretty sure a 6 bulb on your tank would grow sps anywhere in your tank. Depending on bulb combo and how high it's hung. I am just saying an 8 bulb is over kill.

Yea I have a canopy. It was built to hang LEDs so I'm sure it could hold t5s.

I mean, 6 bulb would be cheaper but I'm always afraid I'll make the wrong decision lol

Nothing more to say here!
One important factor is get the right combo front to back on your bulbs.
I had for a long time ATI bulbs but Chris@CoralVue forced me to use the new Gieseman bulbs............... and all I can say is, WOW!
