Big E Rimless 80g Sps

Beautiful photos

Big E, Can you please take a full shot of your frag tanks . Lights and tank and all in one shot. I want to see your set up please! Thanks

Beautiful corals and photos! I love the relative simplicity of your setup and the fact it's clearly working well.

Thank you everyone! My display is just a big frag tank right now with 5 racks dispersed around the tank. I've had to cut down 3-4 large colonies as I had no space left.

My original goal was to accumulate a lot of acros, pick my favorites by seeing them in person, and then growing those out in my display. The rest go in my frag tank as back ups, ect.

I want to start with them relatively small due to my tank restrictions. Once that's together, I'll take display shots worthy of posting. It's a mess now of acros everywhere some shoved into tight spots where not all are at their best or laid out in a nice a-scape.. As you'll see, a lot of pictures are of acros on racks.

Here's a handful of coral shots and updates---

ridiculous colours dude

any chance of a video?! :D id love to see what the flow is like in your tank!

I'm very sorry for not getting back to you on this. Here's a quick video of what I think is perfect type of flow for most acros. The smooth skinned types like Hawkins, Echinatas, ect. don't need quite as much.

Sorry for the quality but that's the best I can do with a 12 year old camera.

Looking good Ed!

Thanks!

I believe your using t5s? How far away is the light from the water? How old is the tank?

Setup is over 5 years.....I swapped out from a 75g standard to an 80g rimless after two years. I used all the water, same sump ect. I just swapped out the glass boxes.

Use these measurements I took............

Between approx. 300 and 500 most acroporas will do well. The smooth skin types like 200-250
-----------------------------

Total water depth is 18 1/2". The first number is the level from the floor of the tank. The number in ( ) is the distance from the bulbs.

1" off the bottom-- 200 (24)
3"- 260 (22)
6"- 280 (19)
10"- 300 (15) This is mid level area of the tank.
11"- 325 (14)
12"- 360 (13)
13"- 400 (12)
14"- 430 (11)
15"- 470 (10)
17"- 500 (8)

wow stunning sps collection.

Thank you!
