Biocube32 filter

That’s not an accurate test kit, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. Dosing Stability is good for safe measure.
Is there a different one she should be using? That’s the one they sold. I’m concerned because it’s been a week and the fish aren’t really eating. We’ve tried frozen, flakes & pellets.

The Seachem Ammonia Badge is much better. It provides 24/7 readings, very accurate, and works with all medications.

I would do a large water change (matching salinity and temp prior to changing) and keep dosing your stability as needed.

Can you post pictures of the fish so we can try to diagnose any possible diseases that may be contributing to the lack of appetite?

@Jay Hemdal

It looks like one of the clownfish have redness around the gills: is this a symptom of ammonia burn?

@janetlaf

The fish don’t seem to be infected with any parasites. I’d recommend you keep the ammonia down with water changes and dose the bottled bacteria. See if this helps the fish perk up.

Thanks. I will have her change the water tomorrow morning.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

What was the history of the live rock? The bacteria in established live rock should be managing the ammonia levels.

The fish not feeding is a huge concern. Can you try posting a short video?

She just changed the water and and as a result had to rearrange the live rock so the water’s a bit cloudy at the moment, I will once it settles. She said they are alittle this morning. We changed the water and filter pad and the level is the same.

There is 20lbs of live rock in there

Welcome to R2R!

Welcome to R2R! I set up my Biocube 32 back in October. I removed the filtration an rack. In the second chamber I ran a sponge filter from top to bottom against the first chamber and added a bag of ceramic biomedia and a bag of activated charcoal. Once a month I rind them out in the water I removed. Go to YouTube and search: Coralife Biocube Basics, simple filter modifications. I hope this helps, good luck!
