Biota Captive Bred Mandarin

$80? My LFS has these for $60 and I thought they were high. Either way, the ones I saw do not eat frozen or pellets.

If you are having problems getting your mandarin to eat feed it Capelin Roe fish eggs. You can buy them at most Oriental grocery stores. I have had success using them as food. Just drop a half teaspoon of them into your tank in the same spot every day. It may take a week or two for them to start eating but I have had four mandarins and a scooter eat them. And it fattens them up. :)

NO!!! So sorry! I was just super excited about captive bred mandarins and saying it was awesome they were being offered again.
Thank you. You use to be on marinedepot forum a long time ago. When you first started the lair. You have given me great advice always. Was a guy by the name snake too that was also helpful. Thanks again.

I would like to have an update. Just found out you can get captive bred. Will support this. Would like to know if truly eating frozen.

I've had mine now for about 2 months and while they didn't eat frozen at first, in the past few weeks I have definitely seen them eat frozen bits that fall on the sand. They aren't actively eating out of the water column still but not sure you'll ever get to that level with a mandarin ;)

Thanks for the great feedback guys, glad to hear the fish are doing well and taking to frozen foods. Come January we will have more available!

I've had mine 3 or 4 months. He's doing great! I feed him some nutramar a few times a week and he looks fat to me. After failed attempts with wild mandarins I am so happy these are being sold. Honestly I wish these were the only mandarins sold.
