Biota Yellow Tang weird belly

Hi everyone got this baby biota yellow 2 days ago and the belly is worrying me it was very huge and you can see all the organs it was so swollen it was weird

2 days later belly is going down slightly and the fish haven’t ate since I got him any suggestions?

Belly swollen or the rest the fish wafer thin? Baby biota yellows come very small and thin, good nutrition is key. It's hard to see size of belly in a side shot. Try getting one from the front.

It’s pinched in and due to low nutritional requirements met.
Is fish eating?
If so, refrain from all pellet and flake diet and feed foods such as:

spurulina brine shrimp
Mysis shrimp
LRS nano frenzy
Marine cuisine
Formula 2 frozen

maintain good water quality as fish progresses
Nice color for a juvenile

This fish not eating is a serious problem. Small tangs cannot go long periods with no food.

Does the water test out good? It looks a bit murky in the photo.
Any other fish in with it? Are they eating?
What foods have you tried on it?

Hi goodmorning , i had cleaned the sand bed , it’s alone in the tank tank test normal no ammonia high no3 etc

The belly like where the organs are literally is very swollen idk if biota over fed it or what , I also don’t know how they can sell something like this

Also I tried frozen brine , mysis , nori

Try nori a couple times a day, and hopefully it'll go for it eventually. I just got a couple new tangs from a local reefer and his didn't take to my nori for like a week. Ate off the clip in his tank for years but took for them to decide to eat mine.

Many wholesalers will feed live brine which is both enticing and cheap for them to feed. It was a food I also used at my LFS. Young tangs and butterflies often pose feeding issues and as Jay stated, they cannot go on an extended period without food as they are using up fats daily and start to shrink as your yellow is showing not to mention lateral line starting to be exposed.
How was fish acclimated and for how long ?

To my eye, this fish looks like most biota baby yellows I see at the LFS. Pale and wafer thin. That it's not eating is a major concern though. It doesn't have any fat stores to spare.

The fish looks stressed, alone and scared and possibly constipated. It doesn’t look sick yet so if it was in my care I would move it by hand into the DT where it can hangout with other fish like it was raised.
