Black Hornets?

a LFS close to me is selling these as Black Hornets. I recall seeing a thread for them awhile ago but these look like the picture has been doctored or something. Please comment..

Is it Neptunes Cove? If it is he sells alot of nice stuff but most are names different that want he gives them. For instance Red hornets are $50-75 for a frag of like 20-25 polyps..... Not Red Hornets, more like Stingers if even that.

Deff not a hornet. No alternating skirt and the black hornets are alot more black, that looked kind of purple

Oh ya, its directly from Neptune's Cove. What would this be called? Who has some black hornets, pics?!?

They do not fall in the category of Hornets at all. Without an alternating skirt they are not Hornets of any kind.

i just got a frag of these two when they are stressed they look like they have alternating skirts. They were sold as TRUE BLUE HORNETs 10 a polyp.

They also look like blue super novas

The shop that i got them from may even be a sponsor.

I have red hornets and the alternating skirt came out as I put them low in the tank and under more blue light

Deff not ktars black hornets real black hornets are not uniform circles they grow in a random pattern very unique

This morph has been coming in lately and everyone is just calling them as hornets but they are not any of the few true hornets

BTW the rings havent colored up in the pic but they are bright solid yellow now.

Good luck finding them, they are pretty slow growers actully, only moderate in the right tanks. It will be awhile before anyone frags them...I know I wont be...

not sure why people keep mentioning alternating skirts for the black hornets- black hornets don't alternate. It's true all other hornets do, but the black hornets don't. Black Hole Suns do, but they were named as hornets
