Blue shrooms melted!

Welp… Mystery Solved.

two days ago… I ran NoPox on a doser for five minutes. My timer went off, I guess I got distracted… and about 250mls of NoPoX went into my tank over 4 hours and running the rest of bottle dry.

yup, that’ll do it…

Great that you know, it’s hard to replace when you don’t know why, now you can move forward on new mushrooms!
Good find.

For now…
Apparently I’m going to get a bacterial bloom, which makes sense, my water has gotten a little cloudy.

haven’t lost any fish… algae on rocks and sand is virtually gone lol…

toadstool leather is still a bit ticked.

no fish loss.

gonba run my skimmer wet and increase aeration.

Yah, Dilute and pull out.
Good you caught that, could have been much worse.

And my ph is 7.8 down from 8.0

Raise your ph, you can do that safely uaing an air pump/wavepump that sucks air from the water surface.

I was going to add some part 2 tonight after the lights go out.

I’ve already got a sicce syncra 5.0 pump up 6 feet on dual Durso set up. Also have a power head in the sump and the reef octopus.

I’ll check my Alk, cal, mag in a bit. Tested mag last night and it was 1350.

R2R was founded on the simple premise to develop a warm, friendly, suitable place to gather and discuss this hobby for people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. The “Be Nice” policy is something we take very seriously. This can be especially challenging when we care passionately for the fish, coral, and other livestock - please work to separate the problem from the people and focus on addressing the problem. Simply put - being rude, even if it is true, is not okay.

We highly encourage healthy debate here and understand not everyone will agree on all issues. In fact, we value healthy and even lively discussion of hobby issues and questions...this actually leads to advancements in our hobby, so we ALL win through these debates. What we will not tolerate is the negativity, name calling, belittling attitude towards other members or the topics being discussed. We are not asking you to cease debating your positions. What we are asking is that you do so in a healthy, respectful manner.

Wow.

What a brutal and ugly thing to say to another reef keeper.

They were fine last night, I came out this morning to find them dripping off the frag disk. I pulled it out and dipped it in RO water to clear the melting sludge off the frag disk.

There’s no reason to say something like that. Guess I won’t be asking for assistance here anymore.
Hello Ruby. Don't give up on this site because of a few that may be having a bad day and can be a little edgy. We all get that way at times and it is how we learn to be better.

Update

30g water change yesterday
45g water change today

water has a bit of dirty smell to it, still like healthy ocean rock, but there’s something off about it… likely from bacterial bloom…

after water change and 48 hours cloudiness has subsided.

Xenia colony perished.

frogspawn is darker and doesn’t appear to be as flowy as it normally is.

toadstool mushroom extends polyps, and then retracts them for a while, repeats this behavior.

zoas started to become a bit closed

firework cloves seem a bit reserved

Ricordea and green rhodactis mushrooms are contracted but not closed.

my fish, sps, and lps are unphased.

Just make sure you’re mindful of temp with these large water changes.

I think I may pick up some NoPox to take out my shrooms, just when I think I plucked them all out I get another colony

I’ve got a pretty good RO/di station setup, water stays between 78-80

I would not recommend it lol… you might want to take the rock out of the tank first
