What I do when I'm expecting a fish is set my QT to 1.020 the night before. Then when I get the fish home I acclimate temp, test the bag water salinity and adjust QT up using display tank water. Then just dump the fish in.
if fish can speak I was picking his emotion up lol I was really hoping to buy some frags only.Do these fish jump? I just put it in the tank around 90min later. I heated the water he was acclimating in slowly also.
Wrasse are known jumpers.
They have been know to jump out of that kind of top. I would recommend building a screen top. I bought the kit from BRS, it's pretty easy to build.

Great impulse buy! Very nice fish! Almost did the same thing with that exact wrasse yesterday, but I am at the beginning of a Prezipro cycle due to what another & I thought might be flukes. I have a yellow & purple wrasse and don't know how well they would mix. That would be the other problem![]()
I think we all should start driving around with a bucket of water up to temp with one of those small 50w aqueon heaters preset to 78F keeping it warm. It doesn't have to be saltwater or ro/di. Place the bag-o-fish in the bucket w/ water and float it. Then we only have to drip it for 15m when we get home and dump it inSucks. I'm hoping there isn't any outbreak of anything if the transition was stressful. Last time I stressed my fish I think it cause an ich outbreak. So far he is just hiding behind some rocks and the glass.
That's if you have a 12v plugin your car.I think we all should start driving around with a bucket of water up to temp with one of those small 50w aqueon heaters preset to 78F keeping it warm. The Styrofoam is fine. Buy some hand warmers and tape them to the top. If water gets on them they become useless. I heard that helps. Also for a power outage. Ziplock bag a bunch of hand warms and stuff them under LR, in the sand, or under PVC. Just throwing that out there. For small tanks owners like you and I. I could see this being a useful tip.I have a foam box that's always in my car that should have some insulation. it's literally only there for buying saltwater stuff. I don't know how much it helps though. Maybe I can add real insulation inside it. One time I bought my dad freshwater plants and it was shipped in a bag wrapped in fiberglass insulation.
