Dave! I just now realized that was you! Go figure you have the same screen name here as PMASi. Yeah that's why I left RC. R2R is much more personable. PMASI is great too but there isn't much action. I tried to throw some threads in there a while back but there wasn't much response.
As for the BSJF, yeah I was worried that it would be too small but he seems to be happy. No stress and last night he started playing with the rubble! He completely enclosed his middle entrance with random crap around the tank. Today ill introduce his only tankmate, a green chromis. I was going to spring for a cardinal but I was never a fan. Ill see how he likes it and if not ill throw the chromis in the display. Little Buddy absolutely LOVES squid. Giant Eagle sells it by the pound so I just chop it up and he devours it.
I have been keeping the tank at room temp. I have done some research on it and apparently the natural fluctuation of seasonal temperatures are anywhere from 60 degrees to 80 degrees. So an even 72-74 and he is healthy. No skin issues and no temperament.
Has anyone had one of these guys all of the sudden go crazy? He seems very docile and curious fish. I read up on the "floating" act that they can do when they feel as if their home is compromised which is a cool act.
I can assure you, the VERY FIRST sign of stress in this fish and he is going into the display.
