Hi can anybody please tell me wether or not a female blue throat will share a tank with a blue trigger in a 1200x600x600 tank which also has a lionfish a spotted grouper a foxface and a white eye moray eel. Added her but was getting harassed straight away by the blue trigger straight away the retailer where I bought her said it would be ok but keep an eye on her couldn’t watch for too long but she looked like she was going to get battered if I’d of left her she now floats in a breeding net within the tank untill I take her back for a refund but would like to know if I left her over night would the blue trigger give up and let her settle in ????? A

I’ve got a pair of (male/female and mated) blue throat triggers in my S650 if that’s any help.

I bought two (2) small (3-4") Blue Throats Triggers labeled 'males' from the LSF, who were getting along fine in a sales-tank, maybe 50-75 gallons. They had been there together for about 3 weeks. I have had them about a month and a half now in a 150-gallon (5' long), and they are best-buddies. Hope some of this info helps you. ;)

Just move your aquascape a little, to erase the territory of those that are already established

Second this, rearranging the scape throws off any territorial aggression. Also, feed the niger till exhaustion. You will notice a triggers swimming slows down when it has a full belly, it will usually ignore other fish & swims very peacefully. If possible, increase the flow of water in the main display. Triggers are like having a bully dog, keep their belly full & long exhausting walks, you won’t see any aggression & they become very playful, from my experience. A food that I’ve noticed subdued aggression are half shell clams, believe it or not, seaweed too. Hope it helps.
