Blue Throat Triggers - Do they mess up sand?

My male is very mellow. He doesn’t mess with anyone or anything in the tank.

Is 262 enough for a pair long term?
I think so. Yes.
As long as the tank isnt over stocked.
My single male is about 5 inches in my 130. Pair are about 6 inches and all seem really happy and FAT!

I have had a couple, super peaceful. Make sure they have room to swim

Have you ever kept a Blue Throat?

Not yet. I’d really like to. They seem like the most peaceful and chill of the bunch. Just not sure if a 120g would be large enough. But if I could have a trigger, it’d be a blue throat.

I have a Clown, Sargassum, Assasi and Blueline in my reef and all they do is bight the rocks and wait for me to feed them. A Blueline is not gonna sift your sand unless it’s starving and looking for worms or something to eat.

Isn’t a Bluelined Trigger completely different than a Blue Throat Trigger?

Absolutely I was just mentioning what triggers I have. I've had alot of different ones over 30+years with a few of the bluejaws that's why I mentioned they wouldn't stir the sand unless they were hungry as most any fish will do not just triggers.

I received my male and female Blue Throats.

Man are these beautiful fish!

I have them in my 90 gallon QT and they have already come out of hiding and are eating mysis.

The male is being very aggressive with the female. She seems to try and hang out with him and he does his sideways/scoot move into her.

I’m considering ordering a male and female blue throat, both are about 2-3 inches. Is a 310 display enough room for them? And is my scape safe since it is not glued only stacked? They would go in a 29 gal qt with a Sailfin and candy hog fish for now.

My male and female ended up being awesome in my 260. Your 310 is plenty of room. I have 5 tangs, yellow coris wrasse, flame Angel, foxface, 2 Royal grammas, spotted mandarin and 2 clowns in my 260.

They don’t mess with anything and are extremely peaceful, but man can they put away some food!
