Blueberry gorgonians (Acalycigorgia sp.)

We just received this about 2 hours approximately, they're both very healthy and they're almost open. We're going to see if we can aquaculture these and the difference this time from other tries is, we're using Pacific oysters as part of the natural filtration and they will feed the gorgonians. Display tank is design for laminar water flow an display tank volume is 48 gallons and the two sumps are total 70 gallons, 12 Pacific oysters we just got them 15 minutes ago and they are getting acclimated. They're at about 80% open and that's a good sign seems like they're healthy. Next day or two or sooner if they open completely I'll take pictures and video.

In all the hype of SPS recently. I completely forgot about Gorgonians! I think I might need one of these in my tank.

After finishing acclimating these blueberry gorgonians, I went and picked up 12 Pacific oysters and 2 hours later the oysters decided to spawn which is good for whatever corals I had left and especially these gorgonians, they really loved it, the oyster spawning

I think one of the few that has blue polyps in the soft Coral family. There is another one that has a darker blue polyps and that one's super rare to see in our aquarium trade.

I was working on the system today, one pump went out and had to get a different one running. And I turned off the chiller and forgot to turn it back on, the temperature in 2-3 hours went up to 83 degrees

After I lost the last one I have been very wary of trying again.
My lfs got 10 small pieces in about 4 weeks ago, when I went in on Tuesday there were 4 left, I might pop in later and pick one up if they have any left, I wanted to watch to see how they settled.

As soon as mine were in the tank, I went and grabbed 12 Pacific oysters and 2 hours later they spawn, it was a surprise and a treat for the corals what's in there(Corals) not many they really loved it

Good luck! I haven't seen these guys in many many years. Here is a similar one I had in 2008. I don't recall how long I kept it for, back then cyclopeeze was still available which was probably too big of a food to be feeding it.

Look huge, nice specimen. Now I'm feeding mine, whatever waste from Pacific oysters and if they spawn again also my 21 herbs and spices food recipe. Which is actually four or five power foods next together. Thanks for sharing

So everyone knows, Pacific oysters that's spawn in my tank yesterday , did not affect water parameters. was pretty hazy, after a few hours close to normal in water clarity I was surprised
