This year has been brutal on a lot of us. I was in the process of taking down my 180 because of wife having no work and my work cut in half and also being hurt for the first few months of the year. Sold all my coral , fish , lights , skimmer. I was getting ready to start draining the tank when some good news came. Wife going back to work , I survived 2 rounds of layoffs and picked up some extra work. So I decided to leave the tank running and am happy to say I’m able to rebuild but slowly. Ordered the Gen 5 light ( had Gen 4 Pros ). I have my first new fish in qt. Gonna be fun to rebuild all over again

Like a phoenix! Glad to hear your family is doing better- will be excited to see this come back together again!

Was able to grab one of the new Radion G5 Blues and I love it. I had to get new adapters as the are different from the G4’s I had

Small update - finished making the net covers so my wrasses won’t jump out. 2 out of the 3 Radions are up and running. 3rd one isn’t here yet which is no biggie. Flame Wrasse is in enjoying his new home

My skimmer came in today so the break in begins. This is the same skimmer I used last time so I went with it again

The more I think about this new build thread it seems more like a tank journal. I run a simple system with nothing more than a protein skimmer. It’s always worked for me so why change what isn’t broken. Picked up 3 small yellow tangs and 2 potters wrasses. I haven’t had much luck with these wrasses so we’ll see. A few nice Acros from a local coral friend ( Randy C ). He’s always got really nice corals

How's the rebuild going?

That's what a build thread is Bob, a blog of your reef. The "building" part doesn't usually last long. Glad to see you didn't give up. Keep the dream alive!

tank is doing well. Need to update with some pics but corals and fish are happy
Yes, definitely update with some photos. Sorry you and your family had to go thru some hard times, but thankfully it looks like its heading back in the right direction, forward that is. :)

Stopped at my favorite LFS here in Hayward . Aquatic Collections always seems to bring great fish. A nice fat yellow tail Tamarin Wrasse

Glad you were able to start again. Any decent fish stores in Hayward? Loved Aquarium Concepts but they had a fire and never reopened.
