Hi guys,

Brand new SpectraPure MaxCap 2:1 Manual Flush 90-GPD RO/DI and Booster Pump Kit.

Pump does not turn on unless I bypass the pressure switch. When bypassed, pump turns on but the pressure is the same as turned off which is around 20psi. Adjusted the pressure on the pump but makes absolutely no difference.

Below are a few pictures. What am I doing wrong or what part might be faulty? I have reached out SpectraPure. Waiting for a response.

My switch is connected after the membrane, u want the pump to create a pressure differential across the membrane so water from the filters go to the pump then it is pushed through the membrane then to the DI exchangers, the switch is located upstream the Resin but downstream the membrane.

Not sure if it matters, but do you also have a SpectraPure RO/DI? The instructions from SpectraPure is before the membrane and after the ASO valve, unless I misread it.

Did you try switching the leads to the switch??

Yes, I moved it to the empty the tab and the pump started, but did not turn off when I stopped the flow of water. Even when the pump did turn on, the pressure did not increase. Stayed at 20psi, like it was turned off.

I'll take a look shortly and will bypass it to test. The ASO valve was preinstalled when I got the unit.

They do make mistakes too , mine came without the carbon filter installed! there should be some arrows on it showing flow direction.

Bypassed ASO, pump did not turn. ASO is connected in the right direction.

Possible faulty membrane?

Did you switch the wires going into the pressure switch?

What is frustrating is even when I bypass the pressure switch, the pump turns on but the pressure does not increase.

Is the pump in and out connections ok? Did you turn the bypass regulator screws clockwise to increase pressure?
