Bored? How about Mentoring a Newbie?

Amen brother, that is probably the root of my issues, too many advisers and misinformation. We'll get there, slow but sure. I will be patient, no overreact, and listen to your direction. The good news is the fish and corals seem relatively happy right now, somehow, so no need to do anything rash.

Unfortunately I have no way of getting a water run to the tank so I have to haul 5 gallon buckets but it's not too bad.

I'm up for it, if you're up for me :)
Am at your service. Do not worry. I would have not said yes if I was not up to it.
Just remember at the end of the day, I can only pass experience. Final decision and its consequences are yours..hope we are clear on that ha ha

Yes, but this relationship will not work if I don't follow your guidance, thank you. I post new test results in a few hours on the fresh salt.

That means you been using tab water.. you need RODI not RO only...
Are you willing to use RODI from now on?
RO can be done but will need to be treated and am not sure you can scale the system to host more difficult coral..
It will also have chemicals and heavy metals that you do not want in the system...
Sorry to interrupt I’m following along... I also have culligan RO and water softener. Then I have RODI system plumbed for
The softener tot he RODI. But have high Cal and Alk. Tested our tap water and also have high cal and alk. Have a well and septic system. Thanks for the information. Any more advice. Thank you

Husband just got home and looked. We had a plumber install the RODI for us so it would be right. I guess it is not on the water softener line. Glad I checked though thank you!! We run top off lines from the RODI and use float devices in all three of our tanks. Use to carry buckets. But the float values work well. Have three splitters and lines going to each tank. Thanks for the help. Glad I checked.

Think we all could use a mentor!

There is no right or wrong btw. Plumber would not think to install the rodi filter before the softener unless plumber is in to reefing ha ha.
As long ad your RODI input, is not soft water tou good on that front.

Just popping in real quick and I’m out.

Major likes, thumbs up, everything else that would indicate great act @Ohashimz You put lots of tome into this already. It’s going to be a great tank. And prop to the student for wanting to learn and accept advise.

And out, just wanted to acknowledge something awesome

Reef on man
