This guy came to me in a dream from Malaysia mid last year. A dream shipment. Might be one of the best acros I’ve ever seen.

Yea that’s one of my favorites from your posts too. How’s that swirly colored tenuis looking? I bumped your old thread but no response that I remember.

Absolutely gorgeous!

What species was it invoiced as? kinda looks like acropora striata

Yea it’s very cluster like for a specious but I have seen weirder. Nice pull on that species though I haven’t seen that one in a while.
I am glad you know a wide range of species so I can learn a little. And like how you guess a lot to help people here unlike Dana who always posts the same darn thing in is threads “can’t I’d it without a microscope” or something ;)

My guesses are certainly not always right, Im definitely incorrect sometimes, striata could be incorrect and it could be a speciosa or even something else, anytime I chime in on a ID post, esp acropora its always a guess, While Dana is correct that for an ID to be conclusive you need a scope, but whats the fun in that?
I have learned a great deal from yourself and others on here as well with not just IDs but everything!
Thats the beauty of this hobby! There is always more knowledge to be gained and learning from one another is what makes these forums so great and invaluable to the hobby!

...what did you do wrong and what do you want?

huh? Hmm, I think this hints me at something.

I have been told, even when texting friends, emails and what not, that I can come off as abrasive, even though thats not my intention at all!
well, sometimes Im a debater, but I dont mean be a unpleasant person.

Im trying to modify how I write/type, I think sometimes my style of discussion/writing can be misconstrued maybe? I think thats what you are getting at maybe? totally not my intention to be unsavory. I apologize if I ever come off that way

Ill continue to work on that.

cheers!

What we’ve concluded it to be is a deep water tenuis. These are found “deeper” according to the divers. Comparing the growth pattern of branches and corallites etc. I’ve also tested with the “neighborly touch” with other typical tenuises and they do not fight.
Most acros seem to lose their battle with tenuises with a few exceptions of course.
