Any of you guys ever use a HOB on an AIO? I saw something called a Bak Pak using mud. It's interesting.

So here in lies the problem. BTAs are the cheapest and easiest (for most people) to keep in a home aquarium.

So naturally that would be my suggestion right? The problem there is in the wild they are a natural host for like 2/3 clowns and that's it. So if your son has Occy or Perc, they may NEVER host the BTA so what's the point of having it? On that same token if you were to stick something like a H. Mag (too big for that tank anyways) in there, they'd be in it within 24 hours guaranteed.

@Amoo so what you are saying is the best I can do is try a bta and see if it hosts them?

Well not yet. You need to ask him the question. If the nem goes rampaging through his tank and were to sting and kill a bunch of his corals he already has, would he still want to keep the BTA?

Now if he answers yes to that, then I would recommend trying one. If he answers no, then I wouldn't. Make him really think about it.

His tank. I just made a few things mad, but he has good taste. Cyano has been an issue. He dropped his nitrates from 15 to 7 by wiser feeding. Flow is being addressed this weekend.
