Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

I don't have anything nice in mine. Hippie kid...his is nice!
id send some sps down that way, but i myself dont like sps quite yet. (cause i suck at keeping sps, im too lazy)

Ok so Jebao DC 4000? It is muuuuch cheaper than Sicce.
yes!!! best way to go unless you buy a reef octo dc pump which i can vouch as amazing!

Honestly I’d probably pass on a dsb for you. Shallow tank and a small sump. It’s neat stuff though.

My dream tank. actual live Fiji rock and a DSB. Bug-a-liscious.
im with ya on that one

I planned on some rubble maybe. I do it in my cube.

What advantages would seachem matrix or marinepure have over just rubble. Am I missing some thing. I would think the only difference would be equal volume of matrix or alike vs rock rubble matrix would be more efficient

Matrix and MarinePure have more surface area and no possible decayed organics.
isnt it something like 20x more surface area than normal reef rock?

This is information from BRS

This shows the surface area:

This helps understand how much surface area is actually available (deep within the rock)

So for example while the Pukani and Reef Saver have the same surface area, the porosity of the Pukani makes that surface area more available to water. You can run water through MarinePure it is so available.

This is the whole thing

i may be wrong on this, but when it comes to sand beds, there is no point in running one if its not going to be deep... 3+ inches. please correct me if im wrong, thats just what i learned.
