I've been pondering this.
The corals are reacting to a stress injury. So they need time to heal.
If the stressor is gone they will still need time.
So, even if they look bad it may not be a bad environment to put the fish back.
So the coral healthappeacne may not Be an indicator of suitability for the fish.

I'll ponder more.

I would leave it for now. You may want to move it later to different spots.
I cut the bottom stick ting off and leave the disc.
