I think I have decided on some sort of a hybrid with t5 and led. How I don’t know yet but I’m going to be searching

Look at the Aquatic Life T5 hybrid. 36" for your 40B. It's a 4 bulb T5 that you put your LEDs in. Comes with mounts for Kessil, Radion or AI.

a 36” would spill over the sides also I would have to make a mount with 1515 aluminum as I can’t drill in the ceiling

A 40b is 36" wide. A 36" fixture would be perfect. Also look at the Kessil A series mounting arms. Just saw some of those used yesterday to hang a T5 fixture.

It’s the same width so mounting it higher like I would want to if adding leds would cause spill over
