Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

So the change was moving the gyre? Remind me did you add any flow or just adjust it?
I actually took it out while he was moving and dropped in a power head. The mesh covering on that was removed. I wanted to see what he would do without cranking up the flow that much yet.

Well, I can see the sense in that. I would think with the upgraded lights on that tank that flow is definitely the issue. The gyre is pretty gentle flow, but a lot more area for an anemone to get tangled in. Do you think the powerhead would suffice long term, or was the plan to return to the gyre eventually? It is a tough call, an anemone in a gyre can destroy a tank, but changing the flow could keep the anemone on the run. I think in the end I would set the permanent flow I wanted and take my chances. Easy for me to say. Did you use the mesh covers on the gyre, or panty hose?

Agreed. Set up the long term flowplan and let him settle. Once he finds his spot and assuming no additional changes he shouldnt roam far from there.

@saltyfilmfolks I love David Attenborough. I think thats the first time Ive actually seen him though. Hes always been “The Voice” to me.

Maybe I SHOULD glue his foot. Just kidding.

I know this must happen. I cringe thinking about it. Poor thing would probably tear its foot right off.

I know, silly. I use the mesh covers that came with my 1k gyre. They are pretty small holes, but not as small as pantyhose. I just do not feel like the gyre intake is that strong. My fish and inverts get right up to it without being sucked in. The mesh then seems enough to stop him from crawling into it.

Ok. I'll do it. Just curious if the mesh cover is ok?
Is it the gyre mesh that looks like a finger trap or something more DIY? I may have missed if you posted already.

Finger trap.

Do you have a picture or point me to one in your thread of the tank? I am finding nothing that is FTS. Needle in a haystack in this thread. I know he has more rock and that would seem to favor running the gyre vertical (which is what I do, of course).
