Haha, Im biting my tounge so hard roght now! When you guys say a cap of sand do you think a 2” piece of pvc with sand will work or should i just try him in my gals black sand tank upstairs? She will love that Im sure.

Maybe I am missing something, but why would you not lay the Trachyphyllia right on the bare bottom? For what reason would it require sand? Never owned one and have considered one for my bare bottom.

That’s what i was planning on doing but it has a pointed skeleton so it will not site flat. Think I’m going to try that next. The ABS bottom feels like sand so it really shouldn’t know the difference. I glued it to a disc in hopes of keeping it upright.

I thought that may be an issue. I have seen them at an angle in bare bottoms before. A piece or two of rubble rock could help that as well. @Fudsey seemed to be saying something else, but perhaps I am wrong.

Well i just pulled the disc off amd laid it down on the bottom. Will see what it does ovwrnight and tomorrow morning. I can move to a sand bed in another tank if its not happy here. Will keep you posted but am hoping itll settle in here.
