1/2" not 100% clean yet.
LOL, please wear shoes when moving heavy things around on a dolly. You do not need a broken toe too.
Tank looks nice and clean. How thick is the glass again?
If I choose not to, just go Durso, are there ways to safeguard not overflowing the DT?Put the return up and over the back of the aquarium. Use those two pipes as a primary and emergency drain. Herbie method.
It's quiet and safe that way.
Take a look at my plumbing.
the way its plumbed now, you have a second pipe sort of like the herbie method, but its primary source to move the water is durso. If the durso fails it moves to the secondary which acts like a herbie. Simply put, you should be safe.If I choose not to, just go Durso, are there ways to safeguard not overflowing the DT?
do you get confused at any point in the process?I'm still learning how everything moves from A to B.
Dailydo you get confused at any point in the process?
Not that I trust, but I am sure there are folks who ran for years without issue. I just had floods when before I used this method. Been using it since before it was called Herbie. I think 97 or so.
Or I could have my tank drilled for my return to be in the tank?
ok. what confuses you?Daily
How difficult is it?Drill it yourself.
very simple, just gotta check if its tempered glass. How difficult is it?
Or I could have my tank drilled for my return to be in the tank?
I did know this.Glass cages doesn't used tempered.
although I certainly don't think it has to be drilled, I like a drilled return. I have always just placed my return nozels close to the surface. It helps with surface agitation and allows very little back siphon. I don't use or trust check valves either but it hasn't been and issue. I understand this point of view though.Nope. I know everyone has their custom tank drilled for this. I don't. I think it back siphons too much water and I don't trust check valves. The less points of failure, the better to me.
