14 of may is when Loki gets his goodies removed. Vet and breeder wanted us to wait till he was one. Nope 14th it is
There are different schools of thought that I have heard on when to spay. Cassie is almost 7 months. Some concerned about growth plates forming and increased possibility of cancer. I am not a vet, so I went with what my vet of the last 30+ years recommends. Maybe @tdlawdo will chime in here, since he has vet experience. I only know that we had our other female husky done at 6 months and she lived to be 12, with no cancer or joint problems.

Well not salt water related but since you asked... haha
Some of it depends on the breed/size of the dog. Any vet would much rather salt a 1yo then 5 yo 100 pound Dog for ease alone. But waiting until after the first hear cycle the chances of mammary rumors goes from 0.5 to over 20% if you wait until after the second cycle. It can be done anytime after 8 weeks and is the docs discretion. Many are worried about anesthesia that small. The other side is there are some studies that show pre-first heat spays lead to knee ligament problems, maybe some bone and blood cancers. I was taught and go by the ... if you are 100% sure to keep them from breeding (getting caught) with that first heat then split the difference and allow that maturity before the spay. But that does increase the risk of unwanted puppies. And many don’t want to “deal” with that one heat cycle.
In the end it’s the vets personal idea. Heck in Europe we use to only take the ovaries and leave the uterus and that is rarely if ever done here.

Sorry to ramble.

Woot! Miss those.

A lot of the cold weather plants didn't translate well to too much heat and humidity.
We can grow 'Boomerang' pretty decent in a huge container.
Growing in a container seems to increase the number of 'chilling hours' it receives.
Translation = I never found a sunny enough spot in our yard to plant it. ;-) Now a 4' loose shrub.
Ended up giving it to our neighbor and planting it for her in her front yard.

Will see if it blooms more profusely next year. :-)

Heard of it. Never had a chance/reason to order from them.
Lol, Liveaquaria has always been able to satisfy my pedestrian choices. :-)

Some prices look good, some on the high side.

Lol, wondering how often they have peppermint angelfish in.

Could be an amazing specialty importer for people with deep pockets??
Fun to enjoy a fantasy at least.
:-)

Lots of fish listed (out of stock) that others don't even bother listing.

Curious to see how this progresses. :-)

Check out marine collectors. Elliot Lim does all the QT for you and guaranteed “sterile” fish. BRS uses him for their tanks. A little more expensive but he also helps you with a stocking plan and the timing for each species.

These that I got are from there. Couldn’t be happier. I paid 1000 including Delta cargo instead of fedex. He even sent the video of the fish in QT and kept them until they were Fattened up.

I was fixed back in 09. It was a blast was out for a week and hobbled for a second. Nothing like having a couple of grapefruits. So much for a weekend recovery.
How long did it take before you were back at 100 percent? I am asking for a friend. Lol

You guys! I got fixed and was driving myself to Walmart for grocery shopping that night. Lol
But you didnt have two grape fruits being squished and bumped together.

On the bright side shooting blanks means no accidents.

Three weeks. But most are ok by Monday. My dad was down for two as well. We both ended up with hematomas. I guess it runs in the family.
I have heard both a couple of days and a couple of weeks. I should have done it while on leave, but had to be mr mom for a bit while my wife recovered from the c-section. My boys got a stay of execution!
