Thanks! I built the bamboo screen (which survived Hurricane Rita in 2005 and is still standing) and the statue pedastal. Dorothy did the plants. Still have the sculptures. Those were all handmade on a chicken wire / newspaper frame. They are hollow in the middle. They were done by this lady in Jacksonville, FL, called "The Tiki Lady" (Christina Walker). She also did some cool Moais (Easter Island type), but I never ended up with one of those before she stopped selling them. That is gorgeous!
Tropic eden is a little smaller than special grade. Get that, that stuff is the best!
Fiji pink it is ! Lol. That’s crazy expensive ! It’s sand !Do you think being the best it is still worth what it would cost me per bag? Just in the exchange rate and taxes I'm looking at $59.18 (CDN) per 30lb bag and at 8 bags give or take that's $473.48 plus shipping and boarder fees.
Do you think gobys really need the oolite or can they be happy with something like fiji pink? Even the pink blows around a ton and I'd hate to see what oolite does.
Really I was hoping for Tropic Eden but I'm not sure of the grain sizing. Although the Fiji would be MUCH cheaper lol

I think they would like anything fine, its just that anything fine moves a lotDo you think gobys really need the oolite or can they be happy with something like fiji pink? Even the pink blows around a ton and I'd hate to see what oolite does.
so if my memory serves me right , the leopard wrasse will start female and change to male right
Should have read first never mind on the tropic eden.
@Fin love the yard and the night and day pictures give a different but equally impressive look.

Lol no worries it was still good to hear from someone who owns it as to what size would work. One day if I've got a smaller system in the works I might give it a go anyway.![]()
Can’t believe how much it cost to get thing into Canada. Wouldn’t have guessed.
I remember trying to figure out what sand size to get. Wish you can get sample sizes lol
Sample sizes! What a great idea!
We used to, but not for a long time now. I have musician friends that provided live music here too. It is just a small house, so we rarely had more than 20 people here. And then there was the hot tub and large above ground pool. Lots of parties around both. Kinda like a local Redneck Riviera.@Fin that's awesome yard. I bet you had some shindigs.
I was president of a 250 member social club for about 10 years and lots of people have been to our little oasis (well, it was). But, all good things come to an end and we are mostly hermits now. Cue up the curmudgeon pic. Ha!Can’t believe how much it cost to get thing into Canada. Wouldn’t have guessed.

Wow, I hear ya, Maple syrup is pretty expensive here. I bet you get some deals on thatIt does make a lot of things prohibitive, when I look at anything that I can't purchase here in Canada (Which is actually a fair bit of things). I immediately have to add 55% to the price. Which makes things like Orphek lights, Abyzz pumps, custom sumps and gear, etc insanely cost prohibitive. Things do eventually make it here for sale but it takes a while. Reefsupplies.ca JUST started selling Abyzz pumps a month ago and even at that they are special order with 2 week wait.
