No the T should be fine, water finds the path of least resistance and in our case the pump will keep pressure upwards at all times even with the 45s and T that I had drawn up.
And yes please ask all the questions, I did too and forgot some stuff along the way, I'm new to plumbing tanks as well.
 
If you don't have equal rates from both sides.

So in @Why-Me s case, his T is being fed from the bottom or outlet portion of the T. As long as the two outlets are plumbed with equal length the flow output from each should be roughly equal. When his return pump shuts off once again they should drain roughly evenly until air hits the outlets and stops the siphons.
 
What about this? I switched the drains around, eliminated the wye. Maybe simpler? I didn't draw all the valves & unions in. Lazy. :)

From what I've read you don't want to have long runs of horizontal piping.
 
Please don't think I'm second guessing anyone here. I'm learning.
Back flow depends on how far down your return nozzles are below the water line. If the return pump shuts off they could possibly create a siphon if they are pointing down.

Happened to me the other day. I have a siphon break drilled into the tee in the return at the top of my overflow box... right before it splits into the two lock lines. Salt creep got to it and plugged the hole off so when I went to feed the fish I noticed the water kept going down in the display and the sump kept getting higher. I turned the return back on to pump water up, then unclogged the siphon break.

I also moved the return nozzles up so that can't happen again.

Yes. 2. Overflow in the tank. Overflow will be on the rt side rear instead of the back wall for Andrew to access it easily. (The side of the tank will be our front)
 
Our tank will be in a corner. Only the front and rt side will be accessible. The overflow was intended to be on the left side of the rear wall, but we flipped it so he can easily maintenance the tank. I hope that makes sense.

Have you thought about running a herbie setup?
You could use the two holes for drain and emergency drain; then run pvc from pump up behind the tank and over the edge with a u-tube design. Just a thought.

Safest way to run a 2 hole tank. Just make sure you secure the return, don't want it getting bumped and coming out off the tank.
