people don’t realize just how many frags don’t make it that come from individuals tanks.

I didn't think anyone around here did trade ins.

I paid $30 for this guy and 2 free gorgonians thrown in with it.

It's healthy. And yeah, he's only doing it because we're friends. I'm going to order a gyre 1K though and just trade it for a few frags. The hydor 2450 is WAY overkill on a 29 gallon. So in truth, he's not getting hurt considering he gets his corals wholesale.

I won't say upgrading to a 40 breeder hasn't crossed my mind. Lol. But I need to sell my 125 oceanic first.

I'll trade three or four frags for a frag. I don't want them and the lfs will trade. I get a piece and they make more money. Just trying to help. Not looking to take advantage of them.

The gm appreciates the fact I understand how a business works. Every once and while I donate a frag or two to them. I also take my freshwater plants and give them to the lfs.

I'm just happy I'm not paying for coral. Bonus don't have to tell the wife I spent $20 at the lfs

We're a little more tactful when we roll out the enabling and peer-pressure

We are also more restrictive when we unleash our ways of persuasion, they can be dangerous.

The weight was warping my floor was the main issue. As well as I was struggling to keep up with the maintenance. And I couldn't afford to fill it full of corals like I wanted.

Maybe you could ask him to save you a frag. That way you still have it. When it gets too big he can frag it again for you. You both keep winning.

Well.... there are ways around the floor issue if you so wish to set it back up I'm certain we could walk you through reinforcing the floor properly. Maintenance can be mitigated over time as well.

And in all honesty I feel slowly filling a tank with coral over time helps keeps people interested in the hobby much longer atleast IMO. Spreading the excitement of filling out a tank over a couple years can also give you the opportunity to save up for those special coral pieces and add them bit by bit. Everyone wants a nice full tank super quickly but then they also quickly run into the issue of having to trim and get rid of coral. Which is much less fun than watch a tank slowly fill up and grow out...
