Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

You need an algae blenny...Lawnmower or starry type

I’ve heard they are very hard to keep alive after they’ve covered your sand bed and end up starving to death.

I kind of see my fish and corals less as ornamentals and more so as pets. I don’t want anything dying on my watch until they are old.

I really love my clowns, I sometimes talk to them like I do my dog.

S*** I talk to my frags sometimes, you can find me playing a soulful Chopin sonata to them on sundays.

Its amazing how quickly nutrients can increase when you pull the macro out of the sump. My tank went from near zero to 35ppm no3 and 0.5ppm po4 in one week!

I’ve had great experiences with GHA, that and chaeto you’ll never have to worry about excessive nutrients again

Those blennies are hardy. Will graze algae all day like cows.

I have a flame tail blenny in the Menagerie that's slacking on the job, and a tomini in the 90 who is also slacking... actually the tomini may not be slacking, there just too much for him to mow down.

Blennies are easy to keep. It's the sand sifting gobies that can become malnourished if they dont take to frozen. They will keep the sand bed super clean, but usually end up covering corals and stripping all the micro fauna from the sand. Big enough tank and theres enough food to replenish, too small and either they eat frozen or starve.

sorry this was too funny

Got some new freshy fish and plants today at one of the chain pet stores... 5 lamp eye tetras, a windelov java fern, anubias nana and anubias congensis. The tetras are too fast to get good pictures of with this curved glass and narrow spread T8 fixture... but they are silver with a red dot above their eye and have a black tail.

My lawnmower blenny is nice, but mostly he’s lazy and doesn’t go for the GHA if he has other options. I’ve seen my hermits pick at it, but nothing compares to my tuxedo urchin. He is like Sherman going through Georgia...scorched earth!

I’m from NC. Fun fact about me: for years before she died, my Great-Grandmother was the last true daughter of the confederacy left in North Carolina, and was one of only 3 left in the South at the time. I’m not a fan of Sherman either!

Just saw you're from Charlotte... I'm about an hour and a half out from Charlotte. Just north and east a little ways from Columbia up I20.
