Reporting on day 2 I can already see it dieing. It has receeded back about 30% already!!

I'm getting so excited! Also excited to be a part of the initial wave of "beta testers" LOL.

No signs of distress of anything, including cleaner shrimp and CUC.
Great to hear [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122] Mine is scheduled to be here on Thursday or Friday.... can't wait!

I figured mine must be a really bad species because I had clumps the size of a baseball...some of the bryopsis were almost 4" long! Nothing touched it at all.

Die! Die!!!

Lol I had it that long also but pulled it out. Now realizing it wasn't ha but bryopsis instead it was a mistake to pull. Now it's EVERYWHERE!

Can't wait for it to DIE! It'll be the best belated Christmas present EVER!!! Hearing all the fantastic reports is exciting as it is!

What was your dosage and did you have your skimmer on or off?

Progress report:

It's definitely reducing/eliminating my bryopsis. I am 5 days in. So far, I do not see a negative side effect on my inhabitants - SPS, LPS, Zoas, Clam, Mangroves.

I'm pretty sure I can say I have some bryopsis. So I might have to try it since I don't have much in the tank and I have nothing to lose. ;)

You're Zoas think you should too!

Where is everyone buying fluconazole? I noticed a bunch of people buying different places. Where is the cheapest lol

I have decided to use these 2 locations for my control. I'll take a current picture the day I start. I really can't wait for this stuff to arrive LOL I think you all know how I feel [emoji14]

I'm using it too J. Started yesterday morning. All I got to say is that it's working.

So once it all begins dieing put the gac back online and run the skimmers. What about gfo? Should this be offline until treatment is completed (14 days)? Should we not do water changes during the treatment (I am thinking not) and what about stump remover dosing?
I'm running all my normal stuff except the ozone. I don't use gac so I wouldn't know. I am still running bio pellets.

Woohoo! That's awesome! I am so fed up with this stuff but I don't have to explain that do I?! [emoji14]

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger and try some in my holding tank. I have a few rocks with zoas and favia on it from the tank I tore down last year. I thought it gha, now not so sure... It hasn't responded to the usual treatments...
If anybody is good at differentiating I have some microscopic pics.
Anyway, I can get some tablets tomorrow so I think I'll give them a shot and see how it goes...
I'll post pics when I start.
If anyone else has used the tablets, I'd be interested in any input.

It should work on derbesia species of GHA too, it just takes a little longer to die than the Bryopsis

Yeah, that's what I've been reading and made me decide to go ahead and try even though I'm not sure what it is.

It was a PITA to be honest, you can only buy 3 capsules at a time in the uk.

I suspect there are concerns with how much of the stuff is entering the public water/drinking water system. Also concerns with pathogen resistance and wastewater treatment. Agribusiness depends on these chemicals too, so volumes used are probably LARGE.

From the little bit of reading I've done, most of the drugs in this class...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Antifungals (That is an amazingly informative link.)

...have apparently already been banned for very good reasons and without controversy....fluconazole is part of the latest generation of Azole's that are, since 1988, supposed to be better. However, it seems that triazoles do not lack the problems of previous generations, the problems are just smaller in magnitude.

All that is just to say: As usual when dealing with medications, controlled doses and targeted applications are called for. ;)

You can almost use that chart to select your treatment based on your targer....I literally wonder if that's how someone "stumbled" onto this treatment?
