Great work with the FAQ, looks perfect!

I have found a source of single 150mg capsules here in Australia at $11AUDeach. Might be my best option. To save money and potential embarrassment of ordering all the chemist has, do we have any updates on what lowest dosing amounts people have successfully used so far? 5mg per gallon, 10mg per gallon or only 20mg per gallon?

Lets see it buddy oh boy

I'll take a pic tomorrow when the lights are back on!

Here's an AE teaser from earlier today though :D

Someone said that they had success with 5mg/gal but we don't know how bad their tank was or what type of Bryopsis they had. Tests are being done right now to determine the minimum effective dose.

I ordered 200mg capsules and will dose 18 of them for my 180. Hope it is enough to kill off the amount I have. My no3 is high atm (yes it was 0!) I made an oops with stump remover... And I have been doing water changes to bring it down. The first change was 26.5 gallons then 50 gallons all at once and I will be doing 27 gallons tonight and 27 gallons tomorrow night. Yes it's pretty up there [emoji15] ugh... Then will dose the fluconazole on Saturday when it arrives. No matter where my no3 stands.

Great write up and very informative.... now for a dumb question. When you are saying take the skimmer cup off, would I just remove the lid and keep the pump on? I have a BK supermarin

I removed the cup from the skimmer body and let it run. (in-sump skimmer of course) :)

Thats a good question. Im not familiar on the supermarin design. You dont want the skimmer to pull the med out and put it into the cup. Perhaps turn it way down so some of the med "cleans" the skimmer but also doesnt get put into a cup. Does that makes sense?

Hope so, it was a HUGE oops. Instead of 9gm I put 9 tbsp. It was nearly 4am. I should do these things at that hour! Got my brain all mixed up. Put it in a tbsp and weighed it... got 9 stuck in my head and dosed 9 of them. Immediately after I thought "what did I just do?!" and the cursing commenced "@$%^&&%$##$@$%!!!!!!" Which if you know me you would find that is very rare for me to do [emoji12]

Lol yeah, I could see it now... How did everything die? Oh it all OD'd on No3!!! Something I NEVER had in my tank [emoji23]

I see what your saying.... I'll can just dial it back so water flows through it, but won't pull out any meds.

I was thinking completely shut the skimmer off for a few minutes here and there every couple days. Allowing the meds in the running section to fully leak back out into the tank. Im just thinking some will be pulled regardless if its left running all the time.

@prsnlty you dosed somewhere around 168.75ppm of NO3

You were just trying to give your bryopsis a good "last meal" before you kill it... I see how you are... devious! :D
