Ok. Just changed my vote as I am now no longer mad that everyone is killing their Bryopsis.
Wish me luck. Cube first, then the 55.

That's great!!! Lol

Three days in. The only thing that seems affected right now is the pulsing Zenia ( go figure) It seems ticked and refuses to open. I know it is too early for the GHA to be affected yet.

OK, now that I have the excitement over with. I am 2.5 days in. I dosed 22-23 mg/gal. 1 hour with return pump off and power head on. 2.5 days no skimmer (very low nutrient system and all my fish are in the QT/hospital at the moment).

Bryopsis looks more fragile. The bright healthy green color is fading to yellow at minimum. Small patches are already white. CUC has emerged from their hiding places and are going to town on this stuff already.

Sps, lps, zoa's, gorgonian, and softies are looking good still. They never reacted to the fluconazol.

I had a dime sized cyano "outbreak". It died in less than a day.

I strongly believe that turning off my return pump beforehand has accelerated the eradication of bryopsis in my tank. If I were to need dosing again at any point, I would go without a return pump for a greater period of time. 4 hours maybe? 2.5 days sans skimmer didn't hurt I am sure.

THIS IS WORTH READING:

It is also killing the small bit of red wire algea (Gelidiopsis) in my tank. It has turned from vibrant maroon to white and flacid.

My tiny little lettuce nudi eating at it. He wouldn't touch it 2 days ago. The left side shows some of what is turning white. And the rest is yellowing.

Lol,

On the upside, Maybe we found a cure for "Pulsing Xenia" :D

Besides melting it away with Purigen.

I'm sorry, I could not resist :)

Patiently waiting for the mail person to arrive...... Got my gfo/carbon reactor offline and my skimmer cup removed.

I can honestly say Bryopsis is not affected by low nitrates/phosphates, increase in flow, or better all around maintenance.

I had my phosphates/nitrates so low some of my coral are pale.....

If it hasn't been posted yet anyone ordering the capsules from payless pet products you can remove the blue cap off the tan capsule without cutting it off. They pull apart.

Day 3 and almost all the algea has already disappeared. I have been using an Oxydator (filled with H2O2) for a few weeks before the Fluconazole treatment, it definitely weakened the algea, unfortunately without completely killing it. Combining the 2 treatments seems to accelerate the effect.

You might want to fire your GFO back up but not the carbon. :)

I've seen them. Looks like a lot of reefers in Europe use the Sochting Oxydator :)

I run two large ones in my tank with 9% H2O2 in them. I used them all through treatment without any issue. (I just refilled mine today). They are great devices!.

I think "reefwiser" loves them too. :)

Come to think of it. I haven't seen him around in awhile.

Aww I actually liked my pulsing Xenia. But it has almost completely melted.

I just blew off my rock work. Lots of algae floating around ( and Xenia parts) Every think else looks good so far
