my little lump of GSP in the sand is likely next on the list to go into the pico. I've got another island of Bob Marley's that are about to reach plague proportions. I probably should give them to my friend, he will appreciate them more than I do. :D

Because of you, my rock with goochester zoas that came with a smattering of green paly's from WWC has been banished to the pico! I don't want to risk them escaping into the main display.
That's good! Cuz you don't want to do what I'm going to have to do in order to get rid of mine. I'm going to have to break Acro colonies off my rocks and toss the rocks because if you miss one the devil's come back ! [emoji26]

My pico has become the repository for all things unwanted :oops:

It's funny that bryopsis never could grow in there, of course it doesn't appear the Green paly's are having much luck either:eek::D

It doesn't hurt them that they are the most deadly toxin (Palytoxin) known to man.

That's about the only thing "cool" about them. It's also the reason I didn't really want them in the first place. That stuff is no joke and even limited brief exposure to a small bit to your skin can make you REALLY REALLY sick. Julian sprung spoke about his experiences accidently poisoning himself via brief contact with a colony. He also managed to nuke three tanks with the same colony.

@prsnlty , I don't envy that task at all, especially with your beautiful aquascape. I have the means/ability to break my tank down and reaquascape it, but I really can't bring myself to do it.

+1 I made myself very sick just breathing above a purple death rock that I was splitting a shell frag off away from the main colony. They don't get out of control though like the green ones do. I would take a xenia over these paly's any day

I may stop using the Dinox if it's causing these kinds of issues.
Dino-X will kill all inverts :( except BTA's but I've had good results with it in the past. :)

The last time I used it, it was still called Algae-X and my crocea clam had bored in so deep that I could not get it out without killing it. Well, The Dino-X killed him anyways :( but I was dino-free after the treatment.

Lol,
Now, I'll stop derailing the thread too. :)

@Rick.45cal
Lol,
You know what I've been up to and it's about 99.9% percent gone and my reef has not crashed :)... Yet! :eek:

Lol,
It's still all out war until I know there's not a single spore left :D

@GoVols I've been liberally applying boiling water to the few GSP that escaped onto the main rockwork. After two applications I'm 99% free, one more good fat dose of some boiling tank water will seal the deal on what tiny bit remains! :D

"I'M MELTING!!!!!!!!!!!":eek::D

"I'M MELTING!!!!!!!!!!!":eek::D
Lol :D

I'm not telling anybody what I'm doing. It's WORKING :D but somebody will blame me for crashing their reef! :eek:

That is always a valid concern with the internet, if there is one certainty in life (besides death and taxes) is that people (in general) can't follow directions very well! :rolleyes:

One more certainty in life...

"If you find a turtle on a fence post, somebody put it there" :)

They stay mostly in the area where their colonies are but there are exceptions like this pic in my new LPS tank of them growing out of the rock next to the Acan from the same place after 3 years of total darkness and no food. Pictures were taken a few days ago during treatment. The last is one of my old tanks where they were crowding some corals.

Yikes!

I will say it is pretty cool how virtually indestructable they are, unless you are overrun by them!

my 30 year old Tonga
@magictalk
Thanks for rubbing that in.

I sure wish I could get the Figi and Marshall Island rock that we got back in the 90's. :(

Your sitting on a gold mine! :)

Came home to another loss. This time one of my lovely three headed hammers. It was fine yesterday and today just a stalk. ARGH!!
What are your parameters? I have hammers and frogspawn and they are not only fine but super happy. I'm thinking there is something going on that you can't see or something... You haven't seen a slimy substance around them have you, kind of brown or tan in color?
