How long have you had the hammer?
I need to re test but everything was fine when I did the water change and treated. No slime no brown or tan. What are your parameters? I have hammers and frogspawn and they are not only fine but super happy. I'm thinking there is something going on that you can't see or something... You haven't seen a slimy substance around them have you, kind of brown or tan in color?
This might be my next option, half way through second dose but I have lots of shaded areas that get very little light (for my sponges)I pulled as much as I could off by hand and then dipping 3 days in peroxide and mine vanished
Dieing overnight makes me think of brown jelly disease. That's why I asked. What size is your tank again?I need to re test but everything was fine when I did the water change and treated. No slime no brown or tan.

Yeah something isn't right. This medicine actually made all mine bigger and fluffier. If you proceed I would use much caution!
Hammer been in tank one year and dies right after you dose? Something wrong ...maybe overdose?
Is there a safe treatment for it?Sometimes yes. Starts clear, looks like slime or even a little like when dinoflagellates when it gets stringy. Killed 2 huge hammers, all but one head off 100+ heads of Duncan overnight.
Fresh to do dip. That's how I managed to save the last head on the Duncan and half of a bicolor hammerIs there a safe treatment for it?
Dip in fresh RODI water?Fresh to do dip. That's how I managed to save the last head on the Duncan and half of a bicolor hammer
I just swisher it in it then put back in the tankDip in fresh RODI water?
If so how long do you dip?
Does it always kill fast or can it take awhile to do it's damage?I just swisher it in it then put back in the tank
I've only had a run-in with it once and it was pretty fast. My corals were perfectly fine and if it wasn't for them suddenly shrinking up right in front of me and watching the brown jelly go from one Coral to another and it's starting to shrink I wouldn't have known the cause.Does it always kill fast or can it take awhile to do it's damage?
AgreeWhat this thread is about bryopsis and fluconazole and we're getting off track....

Np. You can pm me [emoji6] it's just that when we start deviating and it's really easy to do , it makes it hard for people who are trying to get facts or help. So regular forms are not like Facebook groups for instance and they kind of frown on it for that reason. I just didn't want to get too far off track is all.Agree
I was just trying to learn.
