I know, I'm going to stick with no/low nutrients, by continuing the larger dose of vodka while, until the bryopsis is a goner. My worry at the moment is that as the bryopsis dies off it could release nitrates and phosphates that I will have to fight to get back in check. Once I know that bryopsis is dead and MH nutrients didn't sky rocket I am planning in cutting my dose in half that way I can continue to overfeed......
I agree that is a good plan. Po4 does jump up a bit however no3 didn't for me. My po4 was 0 when I started treatment but about 4 days in went to 0.16. I turned gfo back on at that time. Now it's at .06 and I'm good with that

I went from 0ppm to around 168ppm in seconds! I o'd the tank accidently on stump remover.
Holy Cow!

Lol,
I guess we're all crazy reefers :D

I know right? I was definitely freaking out for sure ! The thing is is I caught it the instant I dumped it in and began water changes immediately! I think even if I didn't realize it till the next day I would have had massive losses

Oh goodness lol. I hate all the metric weights and measures in this hobby. I need to just get a scales so I can more accurately mix and dose alk and cal.

I'm going to switch from HW reefer to H2Ocean pro + first. Maybe the extra cal and mag will keep me from having to dose 50 different things on different schedules. My tank is young and because it's a 40b all I am stocking it with is frags. I'd rather take my time and let them grow into their new home versus "finding" the perfect spot for them all.

Regardless, I am sure that you are not the first person to flub up the grams to tablespoons conversion. Mass to volume doesn't work very well. I'm happy you kept damage to a minimum though!!

LOL it's because I was reading instructions in the middle of the night instead of sleeping. Then I decided to go ahead and do it. I got it all mixed up and didn't notice that there was an actual calculator for it . But as soon as I dumped it into the tank I thought to myself wait this is wrong.

The "like" is for catching it before you had to do a reset.
I think every reefer has a moment where they do something really stupid, I mean really really stupid that they would never ordinarily even dream of doing LOL. This was probably the dumbest thing I ever did. I have learned my lesson though no more messing with chemistry or dosing of any kind in the middle of the night [emoji12]

@Ocean Lotion and @ Uwharrie , what are your po4 and no3 levels? Are you running gfo or carbon or dosing anything at all besides fluconazole? Your algaes seem to behaving kind of similarly. Do you have an up close picture of a sprig of it in a little water? I am curious
I will test parameters today and see if I can get a photo. I am running GFO

Read this thread from the start and ordered some capsules. Just got mine in the post [emoji4] I see people were saying turn algae scrubbers off. What about a refugium? Should I turn my UFO fuge light off or leave that to run as normal?

I am wondering if increasing my lights was to blame? I did not bump them up much ( 5%) I went back and decreased intensity back to what it was pre treatment and increased time.
( Steve's LEDs with a Typhoon controller)

Another change noticed. My urchin has lost many of its spines.
Fish seem fine. Most of the corals seem fine ( torch, Zoas, Palys, mushroom, Duncan, acan ) only thing not looking good is the GSP but it is covered with algae.

Leave it run as normal. Scrubbers into a bucket of sw or turned off.

I would doubt it

This too is unusual. I still feel like there is something else causing these affects that we're just not catching....
