  • Yes

  • No

  • I'm treating my tank with it now.

Mine is going out of control right now but we will see. Did you run gfo, nopox, vibrant?

Prior to the Flucon i was using vibrant, but didnt see any results after going through an entire bottle.

The flucon was a last ditch attempt to try and save the tank. Skimmer, carbon were taken off-line. No gfo is used on the tank. I literally dosed 7 pills, and sat back to see what would happen. The only thing added to the tank was fish food twice per week, and prime added to my top off water. Nothing else was used , not even a water change.

Would someone like to share where they purchased the fluconazole from? I'm having issues finding it.

Thanks

Just wanted to update.

As some of you may remember, this is what my tank looked like the day of treatment Feb 13, 2017.

It took about a month to really see results, and no maintenance other than cleaning the glass was performed.

Here are a few pics from today :

Great stuff, I have read the whole thread and has been following along for a while now and still I am so surprised and pleased every time I see the transformation. Mine is on order and hopefully I get them this week but can't wait to drop it in.

On a side note, not that I blame you but I had to laugh seeing only one before and plenty after shots! I think someone said a few weeks back it was good to see people posting photos of crappy looking aquariums for once. We so used to see only the very sparkly and beautiful tanks that I sometimes felt very despondent and thought I was the only one not getting this right and not always sure where to go or what to do next! Thanks again for sharing.

The after pics were snapped maybe 2 minutes before making the post.

Sorry to keep posting. Before I do this treatment on my bryopsis I want to make sure I have all the details down. Are you dosing every day? The recommended amount per gallon. I'm confused on the dosing schedule

One time dose at amount needed for your system volume

Ok so I have 65 gallons of water. I would need 6.5 200ml capsules. I would dose it once over a 24 day period.

Do I ever need to dose again?

I have approx 70g total. I took 7 capsules and emptied the powder into a glass of rodi water and mixed thoroughly. After the powder had dissolved, i poured the entire glass of mixture into the tank at one time in a high flow area. It is a single one time dose. Nothing else to do but wait.

First photo looks like some fancy hairstyle...but looking at it I do have hope of fixing mine. Had to order mine from overseas and unable to track the shipment so hoping I do see it this week in the mail!

Another question for everyone, the source for Fluconazole posted earlier indicated it is sourced from Asia. For those who got it from them, any indication where exactly it was sourced from? I am just thinking that if my original order does not pan out I may see if I can track down this source and see if I can order directly from them instead.

Remember reading in here somewhere about getting a cyano bloom after treatment, what was used to clear it? Mines a biatch to get out, been trying to remove it with the water change but by the end of the week its back.

Chemiclean

I also dealt with a cyano bloom after treatment. I used chemiclean and im all set now. One tiny patch of hair algae in my 220 after almost every rock was covered! The treatment worked wonders!

Pretty sure it is, some on here has gone much longer and had to do a second dose before the GHA disappeared. Think you talking about at least 14 days for GHA...based on a rough estimate of what I have read.

Did you do anything to resolve the conditions that led to the bryopsis bloom?

If the tank is still swimming in some excess nutrients you have to expect someone to use them up!

I like to think that this often either means too many fish (which means too much feeding, pooping and peeing) or not enough corals (which eat all those things and cover up space where algae might grow).

The fact that cyano is the algae that showed up "should" mean that the tank has no available nitrates, but lots of phosphates.

But that's a guess. :) Can you post all your latest test results?

If you did something aside from all of that to take care of prior conditions, let me know! :)

Awesome thanks for the heads up! I read the same thing but then saw reefer's tanks cutting down on GHA by day 7. I guess i can say its not getting worse but its not getting better yet.

Mine took 19 or 20 days. I have it on a calendar somewhere. 220 gal that was really full. I hit the tank twice with the treatment with one water change in between
